However, in my experience, even if you are not the slightest bit interested in maintaining your bike you should know a tiny bit of the basics of motorbike maintenance. It’s something that could make the difference between being stuck at the side of the road or getting home and, after all, knowledge is power so I have compiled a list of a few things that need to be checked regularly in order to keep your bike in prime condition.
Motorcycle Maintenance Checklist
Engine and Drive
Oil Change
Regularly check and change the engine oil and oil filter according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. Fresh oil ensures proper lubrication and engine longevity.
Air Filter
Inspect and clean or replace the air filter as needed. A clean air filter ensures optimal airflow and engine performance.
Fluid Check
Regularly check levels of coolant, brake fluid and clutch fluid and top up as needed.
Cables and Controls
Check the throttle, clutch and brake cables for proper operation and lubricate them, if necessary, to ensure all controls function smoothly.
Frame and Chassis

Tyres and Brakes
Tyre Pressure

Lubrication

Suspension

Electrical System
Battery Maintenance

Lights and Indicators
