- Tubeless Tyres Only: Puncture repair kits are designed for tubeless tyres, which are common on motorcycles. If your bike has inner tubes, you’ll need to repair or replace the tube.
- Small Punctures: These kits are best suited for small punctures, typically less than 6mm in diameter. Larger holes may require a more permanent repair.
- Temporary Solution: Puncture repair kits offer a temporary solution. It’s recommended to get your tyre professionally repaired as soon as possible.
- NEVER repair a tyre more than twice.

NEVER attempt to repair a puncture close to or in the tyre side wall. In actual fact, if a puncture is in the outer 25% of a tyre, PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPAIR. Why? Think about cornering a repaired tyre on the “chicken strip area” of your tyre. It’s just not advisable and due to the multi-compound build of tyres, each part of a tyre responds differently to the road. Plus, due to the curve of the side wall of the tyre repairs may not securely seal. Just don’t do it! Sidewalls are designed to be flexible and absorb shocks, making them structurally different from the tread area. Repairing a sidewall puncture can compromise the tyre’s integrity and increase the risk of a blowout.
If you have a puncture in the sidewall of your motorcycle tyre, it’s strongly recommended to replace the tyre completely. Even if you manage to patch it, the structural integrity of the sidewall may be compromised, potentially leading to a dangerous situation.
